A BIG Thank You For All Of My Tiny Weddings This 2012!

It’s now November and I move into my two months of “quiet time.”

As I do this, I look back on an incredible 2012, so very grateful for the couples who trusted me with their wedding ceremonies, tiny or big, casual or formal.

For me, it is never about the size of a guest list. It is about the joy and satisfaction I feel to be a part of a lifetime moment and to share in something that is big/huge for a couple. It’s about love. Lots of love.

So, I say “thank you” to each couple who invited me into their personal space to share in their love story.

A Sweet Elopement at Woodland Park Zoo's Gorgeous Rose Garden...

Jamal & Eldrina
October 6, 2012 - Rose Garden/Woodland Park Zoo.

From Bermuda to Seattle with lots of LOVE!

It was such a delight for me to work with Jamal and Eldrina and create a sweet and romantic "elopement" for them on Saturday, October 6th at the Rose Garden/Woodland Park Zoo.

With 2 witnesses from the Zoo looking on and one very fabulous photographer, Jamal and Eldrina celebrated their inspiring and very loving relationship with the gift of a personalized and sweet ceremony.

Some couples are absolutely meant to be.  Jamal and Eldrina are this and so much more.

Wedding Dog "Homer" Elopes To The Salish Lodge!

Wedding Dog Homer
July 2012 - The Salish Lodge

Homer wasn't left home alone!

On one fine day in July of this year, Homer accompanied his beloved guardians, Louis and Agnes, to The Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, Washington for their small and intimate wedding ceremony and celebration.

With two handsome young men as witnesses (the groom's sons), Homer stood watch as his people exchanged vows on a warm and sunny evening on the patio of their suite overlooking Snoqualmie Falls.

Like Homer, I love pet-friendly hotels and lodges.  Homer was not only a calming presence but he did a most excellent job presenting the rings (look at photo above - see the rings in the pouch around his neck?!)

Congratulations, Louis and Agnes!

Aaron, JeNeil and their handsome little guy
July 7, 2012 - Volunteer Park

Saturday morning.  July 7th.

A young, inspiring and fun-loving couple.  And their very cute and energetic 2-year-old son!

Aaron and JeNeil drove a few days before from Utah to "elope" to the Seattle area.  Under a big and very old tree at Seattle's Volunteer Park, Aaron and JeNeil exchanged vows with their young son circling their legs.

Vows were exchanged.  Rings were placed.  Aaron was holding his little guy when he gave his beautiful new wife a kiss.

Perfect.

Elope To Seattle! A Sweet And Memorable Wedding for Andrew & Jenny On A Washington State Ferry!

Jenny & Andrew
June 29, 2012 - Washington State Ferry

You've gotta love Jenny and Andrew from Massachusetts!

Within a short time of making a "final decision" to "do it," Andrew and Jenny booked their flight and made their way to the Seattle area.

On the 10:25 a.m. ferry run on Friday, June 29th aboard the Washington State Ferry from Bainbridge Island to Seattle, this very sweet couple got "hitched" at the front of the boat with the Seattle skyline behind them - and to the delight of hundreds of on-lookers from inside the ferry!

Every year, the Washington State Ferry system hosts small weddings aboard their ferries.  If you'd like more information on this, feel free to send an email or give me a call at 425.922 1325.  There is no cost to a couple and the process to secure "permission" is easy.

Jenny and Andrew - you are so very married!

Elope Seattle Style - Making The Most Of An Intimate Wedding Ceremony...

Eric and Kimberly - May, 2012

To me, the "size" of a wedding ceremony doesn't matter.

What matters are the poignant moments and memories around a couple's lifetime experience.

Eric and Kimberly did everything right for their small and sweet ceremony in Woodinville on a fine Sunday afternoon late last month.

With their small son at their side and a few precious family and friends, Eric and Kimberly marked the commencement of their marriage with heart, promises and pride.

Easy.  Fun.  Memorable.  A "perfect" elopement.

A Sweet Elopement For Jake and Christina On A Gorgeous May Day - Kingston WA Waterfront!

Jake + Christina = LOVE!

Jake and Christina caught an early ferry from Whidbey Island to Port Townsend yesterday morning.  With their two lovely witnesses, they drove from Port Townsend to be married on the lovely waterfront Kingston, Washington.

With activity of the Farmer's Market in the background, music from the stage and grand sunshine on such a beautiful Saturday morning, Jake and Christina exchanged vows and rings, to the huge delight of myself and their "heart shaped" witnesses!

Jake and Christina - much, much happiness to you as you embark on your marriage adventure!

A Sweet Morning Elopement At Seattle's Tulio Restaurant

Kara and Josh. 3.24.12

Surrounded by 15 family and friends at Seattle's downtown Tulio Restaurant on this festive March Saturday morning, Kara and Josh exchanged vows and celebrated their loving relationship.

I love morning ceremonies.

You often get great added value as Seatt;e venues are happy to have the morning business. It gives a couple the option for brunch or lunch. AND the two of you get the rest of your day to create lifetime memories on a wedding day.

As you consider a time of day to elope, consider the morning. Not only are area restaurants more available on a weekend morning, but local parks are also less crazy during the peak months, giving a couple more outdoor options and privacy.

From Alaska to Seattle! Michael and Angie's Small & Intimate Ceremony, Seattle Style!

Michael + Angie = Seattle wedding!

On a cold and blustery day, Michael and Angie were married at Seattle's Edgewater Hotel, surrounded by close family and friends.

This couple wanted a small and intimate ceremony and celebration - and with a personalized ceremony and dinner with their best family and friends, they got their wish.

The Edgewater Hotel in downtown Seattle is a perfect venue for a tiny wedding celebration.

I particularly like the waterfront room which is adjacent to the Hotel's dining room. This is where Michael and Angie were married and where they celebrated with a beautiful dinner. I've been to this room numerous times over the years and it's a favorite for a "Seattle waterfront" wedding experience!

Doing Something Fun and Festive Within A Tiny Wedding Ceremony...

Look at the fun in this fabulous photo taken during David and Lindsay's small and intimate wedding ceremony at a bed and breakfast on one sweet afternoon on Seattle's Capital Hill.

Yes, they are pulling a fisherman's knot!

And you thought rituals were only for larger and more formal wedding ceremonies...not!

Today's tiny wedding ceremony is all about joy - fun - intimacy and uniqueness. Today's intimate and small ceremony gives a couple a profound opportunity to incorporate unique elements that celebrate a loving relationship.

I love working with a couple within a small and intimate ceremony to create a unique ritual that they can carry forward into their marriage. It's not about the size of a ceremony - it's about doing something that at the end of the day, you look at each other and have that feeling that says, "that was truly us."

Cruise "Wedding" Season Is Almost Here: Getting Married in Seattle Before Your Cruise To Alaska!

In the past couple of weeks, I have made arrangements with 3 couples to marry them here in Seattle before they embark on their cruises to Alaska.

With the cruise season almost upon us, many couples elect to get married "shore side" before taking off on their Alaskan cruise.

If you are in-State or coming in from out-of-State, here is what you need to get married before your honeymoon to our big State to the North:

1) Valid Washington State Marriage License
2) 2 Witnesses
3) Officiant to marry you!

If I can be helpful around this, please call me at 425 922 1325 or go to: http://www.marriedbyannemarie.com/

A Sweet Elopement At Tacoma's Owen Beach - Wind, Rainy & Crazy Cold!

Johnson and Hien.

An amazing and poignant love story.

Married in the wind, rain and craziness of a mini-storm at Owen Beach at Tacoma's Point Defiance Park.

Accompanied by their best friends. Protected from the elements with umbrellas. A sweet exchange of promises, vows and rings.

Very cold! So John and Hien - devoted, loving, fun and silly - ready and open for anything!

Dave & Katie's Sweet Elopement At Seattle's Corson Building

I love elopements.

I especially love an elopement that is thoughtful, romantic and "perfect" for a couple.

Dave and Heidi celebrated their partnership with a tiny ceremony and celebration with 4 people they love at Seattle's Corson Building on March 1st.

The weather cooperated with warmish weather and sunshine and photographer Jenny Goldberg-George, captured this funsy photo on the steps for this historic building in Georgetown.

If you are seeing a quaint and sweet venue for your wedding ceremony and celebration - from tiny to medium-size - consider The Corson Building.

Not only has this building been lovingly restored for celebrations, the owners create some of the best darn food in Seattle!

An Edmonds Waterfront Wedding In Chilly February - Memorable & Perfect!

Diane and Kevin had grand memories as teen-agers on the Edmonds waterfront.

They would go their separate ways.

After years, they found their way back to one another.

On a chilly and sweet Winter day - February 11th - and surrounded by 30+ very happy family and friends, Kevin and Diane found their way back to the Edmonds waterfront to exchange their vows and celebrate their loving relationship.

A New Find: For A Small & Intimate Wedding Ceremony in Seattle! Cicchetti Restaurant!

I had the pleasure of officiating Clarence and Nessia's wedding ceremony on January 28th.

And as I walked up to the door of their venue, Cicchetti, I knew I was at a most wonderful venue for a small and intimate ceremony.

Along with 20 of their close family and friends and their sweet daughter, Clarence and Nessia exchanged vows and celebrated their partnership at this romantic and cozy venue.

Once the ceremony was over, we signed documents in a private side room and then it was on to a beautiful dinner.

Eloping On A Washington State Ferry - Do It Ferry Style!

If you are looking for a unique idea for your wedding ceremony, what about eloping on a Washington State Ferry?

Whether you select the ferry run from Seattle to Bainbridge, Seattle to Bremerton or ferry to one of the outer Islands like Orcas Island, it doesn't get much more than this for a wedding ceremony and mini-celebration!

While the State Ferry System doesn't charge you for using their boat, they do request that you contact them for permission so they can advise the Captain of the boat.

For information and to make your request: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/infodesk/faq/specialOccasions/

Above is a photo taken from John and Amanda's ferry wedding - a bit chilly and a bit brisk outside AND so much fun!

A Valentine's Day Elopement - Seattle, Washington Style!

Valentine's Day is a day for small and tiny wedding ceremonies.

Perhaps an elopement for 2.

Perhaps a ceremony at home with 10 close family and friends.

Perhaps a sweet exchange of vows and dinner at a local Seattle celebration restaurant like Salty's on Alki, Palisade, Barking Frog or The Salish Lodge.

If you are considering Valentine's Day to get hitched, and want a tiny and intimate ceremony, I invite you to give me a call at 425.922.1325.

Let's discuss ideas and possibilities - I'm always up for something traditional, contemporary or perhaps "out there!"

Winter In Seattle - Time For Small & Intimate Wedding Ceremonies...

In the Pacific Northwest, January and February are the months of the "tiny ceremony."

I love tiny ceremonies.

Just like Zach and Ashley, who exchanged vows surrounded by a small group of family at The Willows Lodge in Woodinville, many couples take advantage of these Winter months to hold a small and intimate ceremony. And most often, they receive favorable pricing at hotels and venues as this is the off-season.

So, if you are planning a small and intimate ceremony and celebration here in Puget Sound, please feel free to call or email me to discuss possible locations and venues and how I can be most helpful to you!
